I have always asked myself why do governments waste so much money on useless things, like worthless festivities, or on very bad things, like all kind of weapons, most precise instruments of killing or weapons of mass destruction, while so many are dying from diseases we could find a cure for and how imbecile can people be in order to allow their governments to waste money on such stupid things. Because a nation must be totally idiotic in order to agree with their warmongering politicians who get big money from military companies in order to buy very expensive weapons, instead of asking those rotten politicians to spend those money in order to finance revolutionary treatments for lethal diseases.
I live in Romania and our politicians are just like the ones I mentioned – offering big contracts to military companies, sometimes in exchange of bribes, sometimes in order to satisfy our foreign partners, while totally ignoring the serious problems Romanians have.
About a month ago, Romania’s Defense Minister negotiated with his French counterpart the buying of three military Scorpene submarines (according to Wikipedia, the price is 450 million dollars each) and at least sixteen H215M Super Puma military helicopters. Well, only this contract exceeds by far two billion dollars!
United States of America, a country that can’t say to have so many military threats, has a military budget of 778 billion dollars per year. In USA, around 608.570 persons were killed by cancer in 2021.
United Kingdom has a 59 billion dollars military budget. In England and Wales, 144.746 people got killed by cancer last year.
Saudi Arabia has a military budget worth 57 billion dollars, while Germany gave a 52.7 billion dollars budget to its military, same as France. In Germany, nearly a quarter of men and 20% of women die of cancer, and it is estimated that in Germany around 51% men and 43% women will develop cancer during lifetime. France lost 149.500 of its citizens because of cancer.
Japan is wasting 49 billion dollars on its military, while South Korea decided a 45.7 billion dollars military expenses. In Japan, cancer is the leading cause of death, 25% of the deaths in this country being caused by cancer.
Few days ago, on August 10, my fiancée and the love of my life, Irina Sandulescu, passed away, killed by cancer. She was an amazing woman, she was strong, she was a real fighter. We met at a protest. She was a real hero, that’s the opinion of almost everyone who knew her. But, in front of cancer, she didn’t stand a chance.
Less than a year ago, I lost my beloved grandmother, taken away by the same goddamned cancer.
One of my best friends lost his mother, because of cancer, and another one, very rich and powerful, lost his beloved wife, to the same horrible killer. The last person I mentioned took his wife to the best doctors in the world, best hospitals in the world, but… nobody could defeat this horrible assassin called cancer.
And that’s only what I know from my personal experience. I bet all of you have relatives and friends or friends’ relatives killed by cancer!…
Why don’t these governments of ours cut… let’s say at least quarter of the budget they give for weapons and bombs and give it to the cancer research?…
I believe Romania can survive as a country even if we DON’T BUY 1,5 BILLION DOLLARS WORTH SUBMARINES! Let’s say we can use our NATO allies’ submarines! We could perfectly use these 1,5 billion dollars for cancer research! In fact, isn’t this the whole idea of an alliance – BEING STRONG TOGETHER?? That means that if one is attacked, all come to rescue that member, as in Three Musketeers’ “All for one and one for all”? Why does EVERY MEMBER have to be armed to the teeth if he has friends/allies???…
If all countries cut a quarter of their military budget and give it to cancer research, I bet there will be no type of killing cancer in five-seven years!
Of course, big military companies will oppose this measure because it will make them lose big money, but what do we care more about? The incredibly big pockets of military tech companies or the life of the persons we love and adore?…
I believe many politicians are in big military tech companies’ pockets, but I sincerely hope not the majority!
I see stupid people being happy Romania is throwing away billions of dollars to defend herself against a ghost enemy that is supposed to attack us, I’m deeply shocked those brainwashed citizens care more about an imaginary enemy, that MIGHT ATTACK us, ONE DAY, than they care about a real disease, that is actually KILLING US ONE BY ONE, EVERY DAY, and in front of which we can do nothing, but praying God the suffering to be short.
Well, I personally prayed God a lot these last years. I prayed for my grandmother and I prayed for my fiancée. I believe my friends also prayed for their beloved mother and wife, but… sometimes prayers are not answered and we tend to get angry at God. I know this from my own experience. After Irina passed away, I felt totally abandoned by God. I felt God totally ignored all my prayers.
In fact, it’s not God we should get angry with! It’s not God to decide how countries’ budgets are spent, rather wasted, but our own politicians, the ones we send to represent us! It wasn’t God to sign the TWO BILLION DOLLARS CONTRACT for few submarines and some helicopters, but a Romanian politician – Defense Minister Vasile Dincu! It’s not God’s guilt for the way our money are thrown away by these worthless politicians! It’s not God who decides each country’s cancer research funds, but the people we voted to save us and who really don’t care so much about their promises but only about their direct financial opportunities (salaries and bribes)!
As long as we have village idiots, applauding every Defense Budget raise, every billion euro spent on killing machines that become obsolete and must be changed in few years, like a cellphone, cancer will kill more and more people, probably many of those who applaud wasting money on better and newer killing devices, rather than searching and developing LIFE SAVING TREATMENTS.
It’s so sad to see good people dying, people who donate their money to build hospitals, like Irina did, people who try to do everything to save lives!…

And all this happens thanks to politicians and mass media, who convince these village idiots that we don’t need hospitals, research and new medicines, but better guns, faster airplanes and bigger tanks and rockets, that sick people are meant to die while money are meant to be spend on shinier weapons!…
